Located in the fields of Azul, and in the centre of a great agricultural region, this amazing country house, whose origins go back to the War of Independence, offers the tourist multiple possibilities for intimate relaxation. At the same time, it has a hundreds of opportunities for the visitor to enjoy the natural environment.
Guests can take the opportunity to hike along the banks of the river, which runs across the property, or to ramble through the hundred-year-old trees beneath a clear blue sky, surrounded by a wide range of birds.
The house has eight comfortable rooms with private bath and central heating; a complete game room and a swimming pool. In the mornings, guests are served a delicious country breakfast. At mealtime, diners can enjoy the taste of local food, with exquisite meat coming from the field.
There are also tennis and bocce courts for the entertainment of visitors during their stay at Loma Pampa.
Horses are available for pleasant rides through the countryside, which allows visitors to have some knowledge of the environment in which ideas of independence were born in Argentina, what produced the National Organization movements and where the Desert Conquest took place.
In Fact, to arrive at Loma Pampa is, somehow, to turn back the pages of history to the year 1830, when don Prudencio Ortíz de Rosas built, in this location, a bunker for the Regimiento Quinto de Caballería de Milicias de Campaña (Fifth Horse Regiment for the Militia of the Campaign).
There´s an old pigeon house, which bears testimony to the time in which Argentina’s gastronomy changed its course, looking to prestigious European houses. In that era, the pigeon began to be regarded as a delicacy, distinct from previous years, when red meat and fried bread were basic, and almost exclusive to the cuisine. At that time, hens were not grown and cows were not milked. Grains and vegetables were also not cultivated, despite the fact that wheat was at the top of imported products and other aspects changed dramatically with the incorporation of cheap Italian manual labor and because of other European estates. Loma Pampa, scene of history.
